Relationship Advice for Men - Avoiding the Love Triangle

As a good rule of thumb, you probably want to avoid love triangle situations as much as you can. Especially when it is the usual, one woman and two guys kind of scenario. Nothing good really comes of it and usually, more than one person ends up a loser in that kind of scenario. One way that you can make sure that you don't stick yourself in a situation like this, is to try to back off if you find out that an ex girlfriend that you still like happens to be dating another guy.

You might have an inclination towards trying to get back together with her, but as long as she is dating another guy, you are going to be putting yourself in one of those love triangle kind of situations. Of course, a lot of this has to do with how serious that she is with the other guy. If it is a clear rebound relationship, then you might be okay by pursuing your ex girlfriend and you probably won't end up in a love triangle.

Why do guys let themselves get in these kinds of situations?

1. They have the attitude that women are scarce.

If you go around thinking that it is hard to meet women or that good women are hard to come by, then you are much more likely to put yourself in one of those situations. On the other hand, if you are well aware of the fact that there are plenty of good women out there and you know that you can easily attract someone else, you are a lot less likely to put up with a scenario where another guy is in the picture.

2. They like the "drama" and the competition of it all.

I actually do know a guy like this. Let him meet a woman who looks good and doesn't have any weird situation going on in her life, he wants nothing to do with her. Then, when he meets a woman who already has a boyfriend and lots of drama, that is when he is attracted to her. The problem is, he usually ends up with a lot of drama in his life and he ends up complaining about it. Don't put yourself in this kind of situation if you don't have to.

3. They don't know how to let go.

It's hard to let go of someone, especially if you are really attracted to them or you have history with them. However, being able to let go is a good thing, especially if it helps you steer clear of situations that are just going to make your life worse than it has to be. Learning how to let go isn't always easy, but it can actually make things easier for you in the long run.

It's hard to know what to do when you find out that your ex girlfriend is dating another man. You might have to realize that getting over your ex girlfriend is the BEST thing that you can do for yourself.
